A LITTLE GOOD AND A WHOLE LOT EVIL

Night of the Hunter

One of the bigger influences I had in creating the Father Stark character in the novel, “Lott’s Mountain”, was the Robert Mitchum character from “Night of the Hunter.” It’s one of my favorite books, where a young boy is pursued by a con-man hiding behind the guise of being a preacher.

If you haven’t seen the movie, check it out. A simple look or just the way Robert Mitchum says something, turns a classic song into a threat.
